Meetings For Dreamers—This past August 9, Univision TV and the Comité Latino of the Coachella Valley organized an orientation to inform the community about Deferred Action (for young people who arrived in the U.S. in their infancy.) This meeting took place at the Missionary Center in Coachella, Ca., and was led by the attorney Nora E. Milner who is certified in immigration and naturalization law. After her full presentation, she clarified all doubts of those present about this program, and she answered everyone’s questions. 400 people participated in this meeting.
In order to continue helping the community, the Comité Latino held orientation workshops about Deferred Action on the 20 and 21 of August. On the 23rd they began helping eligible students fill out the applications for this program. This workshop was led by Mario Lazcano, member of the Comité Latino.
