Sixth Anniversary of Mike Brown’s death

It has been six years since Mike Brown’s death in Ferguson, Missouri at the hands of the police. For 400 days Ferguson’s streets were taken over by peaceful protestors under the watchful eyes of the national guard, ready to shoot.

In Ferguson the new pattern began. On the one hand we have United States troops treating protestors as “enemy forces.” And on the other we have the militarization of the police – armored vehicles, tear gas and M4 rifles.

This pattern has been fine tooled this summer in the streets of Washington D.C., Portland, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and most recently in Kenosha, WI.

But in spite of the fact that those who govern want to squash the resistance of the people, they cannot. The protests that started in Ferguson have grown and multiplied in the wake of the murder of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade and too many others taken from us.
